The United States Patent and Trademark Office has launched a “USPTO COVID-19 Response Resource Center.” Information regarding patent and patent licensing resources, innovation incentives, trademark counterfeiting and consumer fraud, and international COVID-19 related updates – including regarding the World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO) are available here.

Additionally, the Trademark Office of the USPTO has provided certain further relief relating to fees and filing deadlines. The USPTO previously had extended certain deadlines pursuant to the CARES Act through May 31, 2020. (See Dunnington’s prior information alerts here and here.)

The Trademark Office is now permitting certain applicants who have missed filing deadlines to submit petitions to revive applications and/or registrations abandoned or cancelled due to delays in filing caused by the pandemic. Additionally, petition fees for such filings may be waived for eligible petitioners. Full details can be found at the USPTO website here.
