
Martun (Martin) Stepanyan is an associate at Dunnington and a member of the Corporate and Litigation, Arbitration and Mediation practice groups. His practice encompasses cross-border and complex corporate transactions, mergers and acquisitions, securities litigation, international arbitration and appellate work. At Dunnington, Mr. Stepanyan is an active member of the litigation team, handling a wide range of corporate disputes including breach of fiduciary duty, breach of contract, fraud, fraudulent misrepresentation, conversion, misappropriation, constructive trust claims, business torts, and appeals, including drafting opening and reply briefs.
Mr. Stepanyan has advised on multi-jurisdictional corporate disputes, sovereign debt restructuring, and regulatory matters involving financial institutions and private corporations. His arbitration experience includes representation in high-stakes proceedings before ICSID, LCIA, and ICC tribunals, while his litigation practice spans federal and state courts, including complex commercial and bankruptcy litigation.
He was recognized as a “Rising Star” by IFLR1000 in both 2021 and 2022 for his work in restructuring, mergers & acquisitions, and finance. He has also been involved in legal tech innovation, having served as an AI Attorney at Innodata Inc., where he contributed to AI-powered legal solutions and research initiatives. Mr. Stepanyan also contributed original research to New York University’s Security Enforcement Empirical Database (SEED), earning the SEED Award for excellence in securities law research.
Mr. Stepanyan earned his LL.M. in Corporate, Finance & Banking Law from the New York University School of Law, where he was awarded the prestigious Arthur T. Vanderbilt Scholarship and graduated with High Distinction. He also holds an LL.M. (Diploma with Honors) from Yerevan State University, where he graduated in the top 5% of his class.
He is admitted to practice in New York State, the U.S. District Courts for the Southern and Eastern Districts of New York, and Armenia. He is fluent in English, Armenian and Russian. Mr. Stepanyan is a member of the Federal Bar Association and is enrolled in the Banking Law and Securities Sections as well as the Publication Opportunities and Networking Opportunities Divisions.
